Ministry of Education Policy Documents

The new Policy and Procedure Manual from the Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education has published a comprehensive policy and procedure manual for private schools.  This manual incorporates all of the policies related to the establishment and administration of a private school in Ontario.  Guidelines related to the inspection process are also included in this manual.

Effective on October 1, 2017: Appendix A – Policy and Procedure: Denial and Revocation of the Authority to Grant Credits

This Policy and Procedure replaces the policy and procedure relating to the denial and revocation of credit-granting authority set out under the heading “Denial or Revocation of Credit Granting Authority” on pages 28-31 in the Private Schools: Policy and Procedures Manual, September 2013 (Manual). If there is any inconsistency between this Policy and Procedure and any other policy and/or procedure set out in the Manual, as amended, this Policy and Procedure prevails.

 Growing Success

Growing Success is the document framing the direction of assessment and instruction in all Ontario schools, giving definitions to Learning Goals, Success Criteria, Assessment for/of/as Learning, as well as why ONLY assessing with products is no longer an acceptable means of evaluation.

This document is a MUST for schools to have and understand.
