Anxiety Busters and Resilience Builders in the Classroom – Toronto

November 28, 2016 from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

345 CDN + HST

There are strategies, routines, and activities that promote a classroom environment supporting children and teens in bouncing back from setbacks and dealing with anxiety and stress with poise and self-confidence. Do you know them? Ask any teacher and the message is the same; my students are capable of so much more, but anxiety, discouragement, and a fixed mindset are preventing them from reaching their potential.

In this relevant and practical seminar, our facilitator unpacks the skills and knowledge that every teacher must possess to ensure that their students are ready to fully engage in learning and positive social interaction. Let’s explore grit, resilience, learned optimism, growth mindset, and emotional self-regulation together!

Teach toward the attitudes, habits of mind, and behaviours that provide the foundation for life-long learning and satisfaction! This is an opportunity to go “deeper” than subject matter and explore the conditions that allow our students to learn and be their best.

Target audience:
Elementary and High School Teachers
(Although all are invited to attend, this seminar has been developed for teachers rather than school social workers or school psychologists)
