Supporting Students With Anxiety Issues: Practical Strategies for Teachers – Richmond, BC

November 30, 2015 from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

325 USD

In this seminar, the presenter will explore the characteristics of the most commonly seen anxiety challenges as they manifest themselves at school. These learnings will then be paired with comprehensive considerations of classroom strategies, both individualized and class-wide, which can support students with anxiety, social, and self-regulatory challenges; embracing the concept of Universal Design – Good Practice For All, But Necessary For Some. Included amongst these interventions will be the use of emotional scales, social narratives, sensory breaks, contingency mapping, calming boxes, and much more.

Target audience: Elementary and High School Teachers
(Although all are invited to attend, this seminar has been developed for teachers rather than school social workers or school psychologists)
